Worried about what your kids are watching online? If you’re handing them a smartphone or tablet to stream smart TV content through DISH Anywhere, you can now breathe a little sigh of relief.
DISH Network just announced a new feature called “Kids’ Profiles.” This basically allows DISH Network subscribers to create separate smart TV profiles for every member of the family on the DISH Anywhere website, as well as through the DISH Anywhere mobile app. That way, you won’t have to worry about what your little ones are watching every minute. Plus, you can personalize different profiles for different kids, based on age.
Just launch the DISH Anywhere app and select the Settings icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the home screen. Then, click on Manage Profiles and you can add a new entry for just about every: member of the family. DISH Anywhere allows you to create up to five individual profiles within the app, for both kids and adults.
When creating a kid’s profile, enter your child’s age (up to 13) and the system will: create a collection of content: that’s age-appropriate. Once you type in that age, DISH Anywhere will filter DVR and on-demand content using independent age ratings from Common Sense Media.
This option: should give parents a little peace of mind, making all of that: smart TV content: safe for even the smallest viewers in the: house. DISH Network has even implemented a lock feature, so the kids won’t be making any tweaks to the settings without your knowledge.
“In addition to filtering appropriate content, Kids Profiles’ on both DISH Anywhere web and mobile apps feature an image-centric tiled design, making it easy for kids to search and navigate content within the app,” said DISH Network in the announcement. “Exclusively on DISHAnywhere.com, children can also personalize their profiles by choosing from seven different colorful backgrounds.”
The Kids’ Profiles feature is available now through DISHAnywhere.com and the DISH Anywhere app for Android tablets and smartphones, as well as Kindle Fire HDX. The feature is expected to launch on iOS tablets and smartphones in the coming weeks.

‘The Wee Ones.’ Just hilarious. This is a really cool feature. The dish anywhere app is a really cool thing. It is basically better than Netflix. You can watch all of the shows that you want, but also the games, the movies, everything. Now they are making features for kids!! Not that I would want to censor my children, but this is a nice thing.
I mean the options that it has are unbelievable: “You never have to pick between quality and quantity again. Dish offers a variety of deals and specials, like free HD for a year, free installation, free premium channels for up to three months, and the Hopper. – http://www.cannonsatellitetv.com/dish-anywhere.html ” There are new features constantly being added to the DISH Anywhere app. These features will make it easier, more efficient, and more fun to use the app so that DISH’s customers can continue to get the best out of their service. DISH wants you to be able to access your entertainment at any time that you please, and in an place.
Making apps for children is also a really thoughtful thing. Children need to customize the lives around them, and learn to adapt to new technologies. If we provide them with the right content that they need, they might get a lot out of it.
