Adding automation to window shades does not require new shades or new windows. Soon, you’ll be able to do it with eaze — ShutterEaze.
ShutterEaze is an upcoming plantation shutter motorization unit. That basically means it’s specifically designed to automate plantation shutters. Once installed, ShutterEaze can provide remote control over your home’s existing shutters so you can open and close them via an app. No cutting or tools are required.
“While you can find a variety of products that exist to bring motorization and automation to curtains, blinds, and window shades, you would be hard pressed to find a comparable solution for plantation shutters,” said Connor Shore of Living Automation Solutions. “Our goal with ShutterEaze was to do exactly that.”
Living Automation Solutions is currently looking to fund the first versions of ShutterEaze through Kickstarter. One will feature independent remote control for individual or group control of any number of ShutterEaze motors. The second version will work with smart devices that use Bluetooth, adding in options such as timed control. The company also plans to have a ZigBee option in place by January 2015.
The ShutterEaze Starter Set includes four ShutterEaze motors. To score early-bird pricing on that, you’ll need to pledge a minimum of $159. Other premiums are also available for backers who pledge before the campaign ends on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Living Automation Solutions then plans to start shipping out initial orders between March and April 2015.
