With CES 2014 about to kick off, Savant is bringing back memories of last September’s CEDIA Expo. That’s because the company has just started to ship the previously announced Savant Universal Remote.
The remote first debuted at the trade show last September. Now available via authorized dealers, the $399 solution promises intuitive control over audio and video, as well as distributed audio, lighting, climate control, and more.
The Wi-Fi-based solution boasts an easy, self-configuring installation. That Wi-Fi also means that no direct line of sight is required for daily use.
Other features include a 1.7-inch customizable color display, backlit buttons, button options for frequently used functions, two-way feedback from supported devices, and transport buttons for Savant’s TrueCommand on-screen navigation technology.
“Wi-Fi is the worldwide standard for residential and commercial wireless networking, and this new remote will affordably deliver the control capabilities our customers want by leveraging the network that already exists in their home or business,” says Savant’s Jim Carroll.
The Savant Universal Remote is shipping now. The $399 MSRP includes a charging dock.
