Keypads aren’t usually the flashiest form of home control. So why would you want to clutter your wall with something that isn’t even cool looking? RTI recently announced keypad controls that will make your home music system look cool—and pretty convenient as well.
The company just launched the KX1, a new multiroom keypad for your home music system. The KX1 is designed to control distributed audio within rooms or zones using a 1.2-inch OLED color display, 11 backlit hard buttons, and a backlit volume bar that can display audio volume levels clearly.
The KX1 even offers two-way metadata feedback from a variety of components in your home music system. That means you can tie just about anything into the setup, including receivers, receivers, media streamers, and iPod docks.
According to RTI, KX1 keypads are very easy to program. Of course, you’ll have to call in a pro to do the deed, but the company’s Integration Designer software should make the entire process pretty pain-free for everyone involved. The program also makes it easy for the installer to customize the controls for your wants and needs.
Other KX1 features include an embedded Ethernet connection and the ability to fit into any standard single-gang electrical box. RTI is also making the KX1 in plenty of color options so you can match the keypad to your decor. Those finish choices include black, white, and light almond.
“Our new KX1 keypad allows users to easily select and interact with the audio sources in their home or office,” said Mike Everett, vice president of sales and marketing at RTI. “With the open architecture of the RTI control system and ever-expanding library of two-way drivers, the KX1 is able to provide the user with simple, intuitive control of nearly any audio source.”
The KX1 multiroom audio keypad is shipping now. Contact your local RTI dealer for purchase and pricing information.
