Lately, we’ve endured some chilly weather. It’s the kind of weather that warrants double socks — or at least another peek at the radiant floor market. We’ve haven’t talked about radiant floor heating in a while. However, Nuheat is looking to fire up the category with a new product name Signature.
The Nuheat Signature is a Wi-Fi floor heating thermostat that users can control via a smartphone app. It can provide access to thermostat settings through iOS and Android devices, as well as a web browser. That way, you can heat up (or turn down) the floor on your way home from work or on your way down the stairs.
The Signature features a 3.5-inch color LCD touchscreen with a 320-by-480 resolution, 7-day programming, and personalized info supported by The Weather Channel. That screen can also display all sorts of energy usage data.
“A myriad of household products ranging from locks to lights to heating systems offer the ease of on-the-go control,” said Wally Lo, Nuheat’s product manager. “Our new thermostat allows the user to activate the floor heat for vacation properties or, to simply turn up the heat for a cozy return home.”
Compatible with most electric floor heating systems with a with a 10K Ω sensor, the Singature works on tile, stone, laminate and wood. Nuheat will start selling the Signature sometime this spring, with an MSRP of $265.
