Nortek Security & Control LLC is adding a slew of smart home solutions to its lineup, designed with the DIYer in mind. The company is showing off several new products at the 2015 International CES, under its GoControl brand.
The new DIY smart home products will feature popular protocols like Z-Wave and WiFi, with options for lighting control, climate control, home security sensors, remote garage door management, and more.
One of the new offerings is the GoControl Thermostat Line. This isn’t just one smart thermostat, but an entine line. These will have Z-Wave and WiFi connectivity, in order to deliver remote access and make them compatible with most home control systems.
The two lighting options in the new lineup include the GoControl Bulbz smart light bulb and the GoControl Wireless 3-Way Light Switch. The Z-Wave-enabled LED bulb can replace any existing bulb, and is dimmable up to 100 (!) levels. The switch can provide remote control and dimming over as many as five Z-Wave-controlled lights. It can even serve as a virtual 3-way switch and be wired anywhere power is available.
The GoControl Garage Door Controller allows users to open, close and monitor sectional garage doors from any mobile device, as well as other Z-Wave controllers.
And rounding out the new lineup, we have the GoControl Home Security Starter Suites. This is a wireless home security system, which will be available in two flavors: standard and premium. Both will include a mixture of door and window sensors, pet-friendly motion sensors, lights and sirens.
Nortek Security & Control LLC plans to sell these new products through both retail and installer channels starting sometime in the first quarter of 2015. The company also has two professionally installed smart control platforms, the wireless 2GIG Home Control System from Nortek Security & Control and the Elan g! g1 Entertainment Control System from Core Brands.
