Now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, you can safely start your holiday wish list. Insteon is looking to be a part of that, releasing its latest Insteon Hub.
The new Insteon Hub is very similar to the old Insteon Hub, in that it serves as a central controller for your home automation system. A few of the new features include field upgradability so you can get new features, an even easier setup (the average is 3 minutes!), and an improved wireless range.
According to Insteon, that wireless range is a big deal, boasting about a 50-percent improvement over the previous model. Other features include live, on-screen status updates and a smaller, sleeker design.
As always, the Insteon Hub works with all Insteon products and many third-party devices, including automated lights, thermostats, sensors and more. It even works with smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops for remote access.
“We’ve made it more affordable and efficient to get your home connected,” said Joe Dada, CEO of Insteon. “We’ve demolished barriers in order to reach the broadest customer demographic.”
That brings us to the most important new feature: the price! Insteon is making the new Insteon Hub a freebie (sort of), when you buy one of the company’s starter kits. However, you can also purchase it separately for $39.99.
