Need a bit more power for your smart home? : HomeSeer: is boosting the power in a new Z-Wave home automation product: with the company’s newly announced Z-NET.
The new box is an IP-based Z-Wave network interface, designed for the more advanced Z-Wave home automation system. Yes, it supports wireless Z-Wave technology, but also packs in an antenna design that boasts a better range and better overall performance for that home system. In fact, the box can even share that power with all sorts of Z-Wave home automation devices—up to 232 of them, to be exact.
Since it’s IP-based, the Z-NET can be installed anywhere in the home. It has a built-in LAN port, but an optional USB-WiFi adapter is also available.
Like other HomeSeer products, the Z-NET is designed to work with light switches, thermostats, door locks, sensors and more. If you have a lot of those things or a larger home, you can install additional Z-NETs in the home, as well as in the garage, a barn or other detached area.
HomeSeer will start shipping the Z-NET in the first quarter of 2015, with an MSRP of $149.95.
