Today’s smart home systems don’t need tons of new gadgets, professional installations, and other pricey purchases. Got an outlet you’re not using? D-Link can turn what you currently have in your home into part of a powerful home network, with the new PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Network Extender Kit (DHP-701AV).
The new DHP-701AV comes with two adapters, which can transform any existing outlet into what you need to accommodate some of those smart home systems essentials. It’s insanely easy to implement into your existing setup, because there’s no need for special software or any type of complicated installation process. That’s because the kit packs in the magic of the PowerLine AV2 standard, which can turn existing electrical wiring into a high-speed network with speeds up to 2,000Mbps.
That makes the DHP-701AV good for gaming, watching movies, and everything else you’d expect from today’s smart home systems. It even has AV2 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, which allows you to transfer large files with ease and boasts better coverage in the home.
Just connect one of the aforementioned adapters to your router and plug the other into your wall outlet. Once connected, you’ll instantly have a web connection in that spot! Other features include the option to scale the system up to 16 adapters, a power-saving mode, and the ability to be backward compatible with HomePlug AV and AV+ adapters.
“As connected devices continue to make their way into every room in the home, it’s more important than ever to have a reliable network that reaches even the farthest corners,” said Daniel Kelley, vice president of marketing at D-Link Systems, Inc. “PowerLine technology offers a simple, affordable and discrete solution by transforming every electrical outlet in the home into a potential network connection.”
D-Link is shipping the PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Network Extender Kit (DHP-701AV) now, priced at $129.99.
