These days, a lot of consumer electronics companies are making products that include support for: Apple HomeKit. However, the ConnectSense Smart Outlet: was built specifically with the smart home platform in mind.
That’s because Apple HomeKit: makes it extremely easy to combine several smart home devices under one controller. Well, not just any controller, but one that can be operated using Siri and the sound of your voice.
The ConnectSense Smart Outlet takes that ease to the next level, allowing you to automate just about anything around the house. It has two web-enabled electrical sockets that work with Apple HomeKit.: That: means you can control both outlets using Siri through your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or even an Apple Watch.
Just plug: Grid Connect’s smart outlet into any available electrical outlet, pair it with the ConnectSense app, and you’ll be able to bark out commands to control anything connected to that outlet.
The ConnectSense Smart Outlet fits over any existing, standard North American electrical outlet. Once plugged in, you can use it to automate everything from lights and fans to TVs and washing machines.
According to Grid Connect, the ConnectSense Smart Outlet was specifically designed around Apple’s home automation platform. That means the ConnectSense app can: control all sorts of third-party HomeKit-enabled devices as well. Users can even: create scenes and rules that will tackle a variety of tasks with one command. The ConnectSense app also has support for 3D Touch, so iPhone 6s/6s Plus users can put smart home shortcuts on the device’s Home screen.
“HomeKit provides a great foundation for the smart home and we are proud to be one of the first smart outlets available to homeowners,” said Adam Justice, VP of Grid Connect. “With the Smart Outlet, we created a product that is great for those just getting started with making their home smart, as well as customers who already have connected devices in their homes. Apple has built a great ecosystem for the smart home and we are excited for the new features available in iOS 9 and watchOS 2.”
The ConnectSense Smart Outlet: is selling now, priced at $79.95.

I love the deep HomeKit integration – and I would travel with this unit to remote destinations and jobs – but for my home, my connected outlets will be integrated into my outlet (my switches too)
