We know a lot of you are drooling over Ice Cream Sandwich — and not the frozen confection. The Android 4.0.3 platform has become insanely popular, and now Archos customers will be able to take advantage of the latest OS using one of the company’s G9 tablets.
If you have one of the G9 tablets, check out the lower-right hand corner of the device. See the little “A” in the corner? Click that to begin your free software upgrade.
The latest version of Android promises faster web browsing, better social media, customizable home screens, and more. It also promises better spell check, a voice input engine, and better imaging features.
Archos adds in a few of its own extras, such as 1080p support for video codecs, as well as automatic description and subtitles for movies and TV shows, wireless content sharing, DLNA support, and 3D for MKV3D files.
Other features include a drag and drop File Manager, Ethernet USB dongle support and the Archos remote control app. Of course, there are also plenty of Android apps to choose from, as well as Google benefits like Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk, and more.
