It’s big, but also slick — and it packs in a lot of drool-worthy features. Featuring Thiel’s phase and time coherent design, this speaker has a new tweeter that’s based on the company’s popular CS1.6. It’s got a new voice coil, a new magnetic circuit, and a reworked aluminum diaphragm for better linearity and lower distortion.
Other features include a 1-inch thick cabinet, a 2-inch baffle, and a magnetically adhered grille. It also comes equipped with leveling feet or you can opt for a brushed aluminum Outrigger (which is pictured).
“The CS1.7 delivers superb musicality from a sleek floorstanding loudspeaker that is décor friendly thanks to its moderate size and elegant array of real wood veneers,” said Stephen DeFuria, Thiel’s national sales manager. “The CS1.7 represents the performance and value that our dealers and worldwide distribution have been asking for.”
Thiel is selling the CS1.7 now, via authorized dealers. It has an MSRP of $3,999 per pair.
