When you go to your local Cineplex, you wait for that moment when the lights go down. Unfortunately, in many home theaters, creating that kind of darkness isn’t always possible. That’s why Severtson Screens has just announced the TAT-4K Titanium Acoustically-Transparent line of projection screens.
The hook on the TAT-4K is that it’s designed to working in rooms with ambient light. According to Severtson, the home theater screen’s titanium-grey shade can preserve the picture contrast, even when the room has light (though it’s not an angular rejection screen). The surface is made of TAT-4K acoustically woven screen material, with a gain of .93 and a viewing angle of 160 degrees.
Compatible with 2D and active 3D setups, the TAT-4K is available sizes ranging from 37 inches to 15 feet, 10 inches. Custom sizes are also an option. Both come in Impression, Deluxe, and Deluxe Curved configurations. All models are also resistant to fire and mildew.
“A new era of venue versatility has begun,” said Kirk Severtson, COO of Severtson Screens. “The TAT-4K material offers the same innovative technology as our acclaimed SAT-4K screens, but can now the TAT-4K can be used in rooms with incoming ambient light. The seamless acoustic weave and striking contrast offered by the TAT-4K is in high demand, especially for many high-end home theater and commercial applications.”
