There’s a chill in the air, and it has nothing to do with the weather. Instead, it’s RTI, who has just started shipping two new Cool Power amplifiers.
The company just debuted the 4-channel CP-450 and the 16-channel CP-1650. Both promise a little extra power, making each one perfect for a larger install.
Of course, RTI doesn’t want each one to work alone, so these amps do pair nicely with RTI’s 8-zone AD-8 distributed audio system. Both have the same Cool Power technology used by the AD-8’s built-in class D amplifier. Adding in one of the new amps can boost that system another 50 watts per channel to extend speaker outputs in larger installations.
The CP-1650 is the cream of the crop, adding in audio input level adjustment on each channel, unique loop-in/loop-out connections for daisy-chaining, and bridgeable audio outputs for increased power to a whopping 100 watts.
“Our AD-8 distributed audio system provides 25 W per channel, which is ideal for most installations, but larger rooms and sub-zones might require more speakers and more power,” said Pete Baker, RTI’s VP of sales and marketing. “We are pleased to offer our dealers a powerful, cost-effective solution to this installation issue with our new CP-450 and CP-1650 amplifiers.”
Yes, you will have to contact an authorized RTI dealer to get these goodies. Available now, the CP-450 and CP-1650 are priced at $699 and $1,499, respectively.
