We’ve seen a lot of manufacturers claim to have a soundbar that can deliver an immersive listening experience. However, Polk Audio is putting its focus front and center — on the center channel and the ability to produce a clear dialogue.
The newly announced MagniFi soundbar packs in Polk’s patent-pending VoiceAdjust technology. That perk uses an adjustable three-element line array with the center driver getting the greatest share of bandwidth. The end result boasts clear, crisp dialogue, whether you’re sitting in front of the TV or in another part of the room.
Besides three 3-by-1-inch full-range drivers, the system boasts a total of 300 watts and a frequency response of 40Hz-22kHz. Other features include Music and Movie Immersion modes, built-in critically tuned ports, Bluetooth wireless streaming with aptX and Near Field Communication (NFC), optical and analog inputs, and bass control. It also has Dolby Digital decoding, which includes Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0.
Of course, this set up can also deliver plenty of theater-type action. Polk has even paired the MagniFi with its own 7-inch wireless subwoofer.
Polk is selling the MagniFi soundbar now, with an MSRP of $499.95.
