In the way-back days of January 2014, LG showed off a lot of new TVs, notably a couple of 4K OLED models in 77-inch and 65-inch sizes. LG confirmed this week that they will follow through with the promise to sell more OLED TVs, and these two are going on sale in Korea, like now.
The 65-inch (model 65EC9700) and 77-inch (77EG9700) OLED TVs use LG’s WRGB technology, sport over 33 million subpixels and are both curved screen TVs. They feature the WebOS smart TV interface for accessing online streaming content. When the 77-inch model launches it will be the biggest OLED TV available.
The TVs also feature a built-in sound system developed by Harman Kardon.
While the two Ultra HD TVs go up for pre-order this week in Korea, there’s no word on when they’ll be available for US consumers, or how much they’ll cost.
LG OLED TVs made news a couple of times earlier this summer—first for releasing the relatively inexpensive 55EC9300 1080p OLED TV and second when that TV earned very high marks at the Value Electronics TV shootout.
