Google TV has yet to set the consumer electronics world on fire. However, LG is certainly making it look enticing with its new G2 Series of LED HDTVs.
The company is out this week at Internet Week New York with live demos of LG’s new Smart TV with Google TV. The sets have LG’s new L9 dual-core chipset, which gives the TV the power for Google TV Search across the web and live TV.
Each model also includes LG’s Smart TV platform, for on-screen access to thousands of movies, TV shows, YouTube, Chrome, the Google Play store, and much more. To navigate through all of the goodies, each set comes with LG’s 5-mode Magic Remote with QWERTY keyboard. If scrolling and gesture-based commands don’t get you where you want to go, this set also has voice recognition features.
The G2 also features CINEMA 3D technology, which is LG’s brand of passive 3D. To experience that out of the box, each set comes with six pairs of 3D glasses.
LG is selling the G2 series now, in 47- and 55-inch sizes. Models are priced at $1,699.99 and $2,299.99, respectively.
If you’re in the Manhattan area and want to get a closer peek, Internet Week New York is there all week at 82 Mercer Street.
