Technologies like automation system, lighting control, energy management and smart A/V gear have long been the unsung heroes in a home build or renovation project, often getting lost in the limelight of a home’s stunning architecture and design. But that’s all changing, and in a big way. As smart home systems and products have become increasingly pervasive in today’s homes, architects, builders, interior designers and homeowners now recognize the importance of technology to a more convenient, comfortable and enjoyable lifestyle.
In an effort to demonstrate to the world the purposeful design and installation skills of home systems integrators and intrepid do-it-yourselfers, Electronic House magazine hosts its 10th Annual Home of the Year awards program. Winning projects focusing on dedicated home theaters, casual media spaces, cutting-edge master suites, and automation for the entire house will be showcased with informative editorial and beautiful photography in the June 2015 issue (in both digital and print form).
And make no mistake. This contest isn’t intended to honor only the most complex, comprehensive and costly projects. After all, sometimes it’s the smaller projects that introduce the biggest challenges and require the most creative solutions. Awards will be given in all price categories, and consideration will be given to all entries, regardless of scope.
