Who wants to wall-mount? If you’re one of the many people looking for good sound that doesn’t result in a how-to project, you may want to consider a soundbase.
A sound base is like a sound bar, without the wall mounting. The latest is the Denon DHT-T110 TV Speaker Base, a single unit made to be paired with today’s super-thin TVs.
Designed for TVs up to 50 inches and up to 60 pounds, the DHT-T110 packs in two 2-by-5-inch oval-shape drivers and two 0.5-inch dome tweeters that are driven by a digital amplifier. Also just because this is a single unit doesn’t mean you need to skimp on the bass; it also has two bass tubes in the back.
Other features include Dolby Digital decoding and Virtual Surround Sound technology, three sound modes, a special Night Mode for late-night use, and advanced dynamic bass audio processing. Denon has also added Bluetooth connectivity with aptX, so you can stream CD-quality sound directly to the speaker from a variety of compatible devices.
Available in black, the DHT-T110 also has auto input switching, a learning feature for use with your existing remote, optical and coax digital inputs, and an analog input.
Denon will start shipping the DHT-T110 in mid-October, with an MSRP of $349.
