More than ever, homeowners (that includes you, renters) seem to be interested in the topic of home security. That’s probably because there’s really no reason not to have a little something to protect your home.
Home security systems are plentiful these days—and extremely affordable. Several use two things that you already have: a WiFi setup and a smartphone. The most recent option to incorporate these two items is the Guardzilla, a home security unit that combines real-time streaming video, a siren alarm, and the ability to capture photos and send them out whenever motion is detected.
The Guardzilla is easy to install and offers customizable settings, which allow you to choose whether you want alerts via text, email and/or push notification.
To set up the system, just plug in the Guardzilla, download the free Android/iOS app, connect the system to your WiFi, set your preferences, and set the device wherever you want it.
Other home security features include motion detection, infrared night vision up to 30 feet, 2-way audio, and the ability to connect to multiple iOS and Android phones simultaneously. It can even distinguish between intruders and pets and has geofencing, so the system will automatically arm when you leave and disarm when you come back.
“We are launching Guardzilla in a time when Americans are gravitating towards this ‘connected home’ mentality and simplifying and controlling their world from virtually anywhere via their smartphones. We see this in products that adjust home heating/cooling systems, turn on/off lights, open door locks from virtually anywhere—and now, protecting homes, offices, apartments, and more with Guardzilla,” said Ted Siebenman, CEO and president of Guardzilla. “At less than $100, Guardzilla gives users flexibility and given its size and mobility, it can serve multiple uses, including baby monitors, NannyCams and boat and RV monitoring, allowing more Americans to protect what is important to them.”
Guardzilla is currently available at Best Buy, priced at $99.99.
