You can’t be expected to keep your eyes on everything. That’s why D-Link created this latest crop of wireless security cameras.
According to D-Link, most wireless security cameras show a field-of-view that’s 130 degrees or less. That makes each of these cameras a nice solution for larger spaces or rooms with multiple entry points.
Besides the wide-angle lens, these 180-degree Ultra-Wide View WiFi Cameras have motion detection, a microSD card slot for local recording, and night vision up to 16 feet. Both cameras also work with the free mydlink Lite app for iOS and Android devices.
For a full 1080p HD peek, the DCS-2630L has 802.11AC support, two-way audio, and the option for sound detection. The DCS-960L is a 720p model with built-in 11AC WiFi. Both cameras also offer options for event triggers, scheduling, or continuous recording.
Each of these also works with the mydlink Camera Recorder (DNR-202L), so you can stream, record, and play back up to four D-Link WiFi cameras. The recorder actually works in conjunction with an attached USB drive, but doesn’t involve monthly fees or contracts.
“D-Link understands that users are looking for an easy, DIY security solution. Our new 180-degree cameras provide customers with the ability to see an entire room from a single camera,” said Daniel Kelley, vice president of marketing at D-Link Systems, Inc. “While competing solutions may require multiple cameras to see details of a room, our Ultra-Wide View Cameras bring it down to just one—users can worry less about what they might be missing.”
D-Link is selling both of these 180-degree wireless security cameras now. The Full HD Ultra-Wide View Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-2630L) has an MSRP of $199.99, with the HD Ultra-Wide View Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-960L) coming in at $159.99.
