Installing a security system doesn’t have to be a pricey endeavor. Today, there are plenty of DIY solutions, allowing you to monitor almost any space using just a few home security cameras and a smartphone, tablet or anything else with a web browser. D-Link is making its latest option even easier to set up—and even more affordable.
The company just introduced the HD WiFi Camera, which also goes by the model name of DCS-935L. These DIY home security cameras feature the latest in 802.11AC wireless technology, all in a compact form factor.
This camera boasts crystal-clear 720p video anytime you want a little peek at your home. Free remote viewing is available on mobile devices and web browsers with mydlink. The camera also includes plenty of other features that are much appreciated, such as sound detection, motion detection, triggered alerts, and day/night viewing. And it’s also wireless, which makes it easy to set up almost anywhere. It even has the ability to connect to either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless bands, making it very flexible.
Other features include a 78-degree horizontal field of view, push alerts, night vision up to 16 feet, pinch-to-zoom options, and support for the mydlink Home app for iOS and Android devices. Also worth mentioning is that the system is expandable, so you can add on more cameras whenever and wherever you see fit. You can even add in the mydlink Camera Video Recorder ($99.99) and up to two hard drives to simultaneously stream and record up to four mydlink WiFi cameras.
“For homeowners and renters looking for a DIY home security solution, our WiFi Cameras are a great fit and allow users to avoid the additional cost of installations, contracts or subscriptions,” said Daniel Kelley, vice president of marketing at D-Link Systems, Inc. “Our newest HD WiFi Camera delivers faster 11AC WiFi connectivity so users can place them farther from the router with a faster connection, making it more flexible for placing cameras where surveillance is needed.”
D-Link is making DCS-935L home security cameras available now, priced at $119.99 each.
