We’ve seen some pretty impressive smart LED light bulbs. Most allow you to turn lights on and off from any mobile device. Some throw in dimming and scheduling options, just to make things a little more interesting. Some even add in millions of color options. However, Sengled has been creating some buzz with the Snap, an LED light bulb with an integrated IP camera.
These energy-efficient LED light bulbs are rated for outdoor use year-round. Besides that tough exterior and the wireless HD camera, each one also has a built-in speaker and microphone for two-way communication. Once installed, you can customize motion zones or view live real-time video using the iOS or Android apps. The Sengled Snap can even send out alerts to the user whenever activity is detected.
Sengled Snap LED light bulbs boast a 1080p HD image and built-in dual-band (2.4GHz/5GHz) WiFi. Other features include low light and nighttime visibility, scheduling and sharing, 810 lumens with a color temperature of 3000K, and the promise of up to 25,000 hours of use. Sengled will also offer optional cloud storage for an additional fee.
“The Sengled Snap is already widely recognized as an innovative and valuable device that provides peace of mind at home, work, or on the go,” said Alex Ruan, general manager of Sengled USA. “We are excited to generate pre-orders through this Indiegogo campaign and offer Snap at a highly affordable price.”
The Sengled Snap is now available for pre-order on Indiegogo. The company hopes to sell 2,000 units and raise $50,000. Early-bird backers can snap up one Snap for $99, which is $50 off the expected retail price. You can also purchase two of the Snap LED light bulbs for $190. Every product sold through the Indiegogo campaign will also come with one free month of cloud storage, as well as “additional features.” Check out the campaign page for more information.
