The LightFreq Square2 is a smart bulb that packs in both WiFi and Bluetooth wireless technologies. That means you can control it both in and outside of the home. However, it also means that you can stream music all sorts of ways to the bulb’s built-in 2-inch, 20-watt speaker. Yes, this is a light doubles as music machine—one that boasts a 50Hz-20kHz frequency range.
However, to make the LightFreq Square2 even more of a standout amongst all of the other smart WiFi light bulbs currently on the market, this product also includes options for 16 million different colors, in case you need a little something to match the mood created by your musical choices.
Another perk is that this entry into the smart bulb market is also motion-activated, so when you leave the room, it will turn off. This is a perfect solution for all of the people in your house that can never remember to flip that switch!
Of course, you don’t need an actual switch clogging up your wall; the LightFreq Square2 can be controlled using your favorite iOS and Android devices, as well as the Apple Watch.
Promising up to 20 years of use, the LightFreq Square2 also has intercom features for whole-house use and the option to receive voice and visual notifications for texts, emails, incoming calls, event reminders, and even social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and more) alerts.
Currently, LightFreq is seeking a little capital, by offering the Square2 for pre-order on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo. To secure a pair of LightFreq Square2 bulbs, you’ll need to pledge a minimum of $175 before the campaign ends next month. The company is then promising to send out shipments sometime in October 2015.
