HomeSeer wants to keep making friends (and connections) with Z-Wave.
That’s a good friend to have, too. After all, Z-Wave allows you to add thousands of high-tech products into your smart home setup. Just a few of the manufacturers currently making Z-Wave products include Cooper, Schlage, Kwikset, Baldwin, Yale, GE, Honeywell, Leviton, Linear, Everspring, Evolve, Fibaro, FortrezZ, Aeon Labs, RCS, Ecolink, and many more.
To make sure that connection is seamless, HomeSeer is adding two new Z-Wave-enabled products: the HSM200 Z-Wave multisensor and the A2Z-Link module.
The HSM200 Z-Wave multisensor can function as a night light, which can come in handy during those late-night snack attacks and/or bathroom breaks. However, this night light is different than anything you had as a kid; it allows for up to seven different colors, based on whatever is going on in your house.
For instance, the HSM200 can detect motion, temperature and light level, and adjust the color of the light accordingly. Those color options include red, green, blue, yellow, magenta, cyan and white.
The HSM200 is compatible with any HomeSeer HS3-based system and is line-powered, so you don’t have to worry about charging or changing batteries. Just plug it into any available 120-volt outlet, tap the button on the side, and it becomes part of your Z-Wave network.
The A2Z-Link module doesn’t offer color, but it can add Z-Wave into any home automation controller. It does that via the two-way ASCII-to-Z-Wave protocol, which can monitor and control Z-Wave devices, including wall switches, thermostats, door locks and sensors.
HomeSeer will start shipping the HSM200 in October, with an MSRP of $69.95. The company has yet to announce pricing for the A2Z-Link, but it’s expected to ship before the end of the year.
