Adding WiFi thermostat models to the ColorTouch lineup will allow homeowners to choose something that can be accessed anytime, from anywhere in the world.
With the new additions, Venstar’s ColorTouch lineup now has a total of three residential thermostats—with two of those featuring the WiFi. All three have an easy-to-use color touchscreen, which can display photos. In fact, up to 100 files can be used to run a slideshow right on the thermostat’s screen.
The ColorTouch WiFi thermostat lineup includes the T7850 and T7900, which do comply with California Title 24’s requirements, including Equipment Fault Detection Diagnostics (FDD). The T7850 features up to four heating and two cooling stages, a programmable fan, setpoint limiting, and an API for third-party monitoring and control. It works with gas, electric or heat pumps and is also dual fuel capable. The T7800 has all of the same features, but without the WiFi. The T7900 does have WiFi (and everything else mentioned), but adds in a humidity sensor to control humidification and dehumidification.
Each WiFi thermostat is compatible with Venstar’s Skyport Cloud Services, which means you can use the company’s iOS, Android and BlackBerry apps to access and control multiple thermostats at numerous locations. Other app features include thermostat alerts, energy usage graphs, security settings, Home/Away settings, and more.
“The new ColorTouch residential and commercial thermostats with WiFi inside deliver top-of-the-line programmable HVAC control with a customizable touchscreen,” said Steve Dushane, president and CEO of Venstar Inc. “The new ColorTouch thermostats with WiFi give users the ability to control energy usage and reduce costs remotely or by using the high-resolution color touchscreen.”
According to Venstar, all three of the ColorTouch thermostats are compatible with virtually every type of commercial heating and air conditioning system currently available.
