When you think of security, cameras and sensors typically come to mind. However, one product you probably don’t expect to see from a security manufacturer is a smart thermostat. Alarm.com is creating a product that will stand out in the company’s lineup. The newly released Smart Thermostat is designed to work in conjunction with Alarm.com’s security offerings.
More specifically, the Smart Thermostat uses various sensors in the home to learn about your habits—and learn about them quickly. Then when you arm or disarm the system, the Smart Thermostat will automatically set the temperature back. It even knows if a door or window is left open and will react accordingly.
The end result doesn’t just create a more comfortable home, but can save you a few bucks on energy as well.
The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat also has Geo-Services, which allows for location-based triggers. That basically means that the system can use your location to adjust the thermostat, so it’s the perfect temperature when you get home from a run, from work, or from your travels.
Of course, the most impressive feature is Precision Comfort. This ties the thermostat into various sensors throughout the house, so it will adjust the temperature in the rooms where people live, not just where the thermostat happens to be.
Dealers like the Smart Thermostat too, since it can be configured through the cloud and has its own MobileTech installer app. Alarm.com also integrated the AirFXTM tool, so dealers can remotely troubleshoot issues, change settings, and more.
“We designed the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat to help our partners capture the growing consumer interest in the thermostat category with an intelligent solution tailored to the security industry,” said Jay Kenny, senior vice president of marketing for Alarm.com. “The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat delivers an unparalleled customer experience with advanced installation and support tools for efficient and more accurate installations and remote support.”
