It seems like we were just gushing about the Yamaha YAS-103 soundbar. Now, the company is introducing a new model for its YAS series.
The new YAS-203 is another slick soundbar package, with its own 200-watt wireless subwoofer. It even has app support and Bluetooth with aptX. However, the hook on this new model is that it comes with Advanced Bass Extension Processing for better bass performance — yes, from your soundbar.
Yamaha has also packed the YAS-203 with Air Surround Xtreme, the company’s own virtual surround sound technology. Having that means that this slim audio setup has the ability to deliver an immersive listening experience. It has a digital amp and two 2.12-inch cone speakers inside. Other features include Clear Voice for improved dialogue, UniVolume to help avoid those annoying volume spikes, and a TV remote learning feature. There’s also an IR repeater on the back of the bar, so remote signals aren’t blocked by the soundbar.
The YAS-203 is easy to setup using the included digital optical cable. It can also accommodate digital coax and analog input options.
“With the combined effects of more power, a structural redesign of the enclosure and the addition of our exclusive Advanced Bass Extension Processing, the YAS-203 achieves an outstanding new level of sound quality for this price tier,” said Bob Goedken, general manager of Yamaha’s AV products. “Bluetooth and app control are just icing on the cake — this is a great solution for people seeking a simple, elegant way to enhance a TV with amazing sound.”
