With a wireless range of 300 feet and additional wireless dock available for your iPod, the OutCast and OutCast Jr. portable loudspeaker systems from Soundcast already offered plenty in the way of spreading tunes throughout the house (and outside of it).
Now the company is greatly expanding its musical horizon with the addition of its BlueCast receiver adapter that supports Bluetooth streaming from playback devices such as Apple iOS portables, Android devices, Windows tablets and more. After all, what music system is complete these days without Bluetooth support.
The BlueCast receiver connects to OutCast and OutCast Jr. speaker systems through the 3.5mm input, and includes aptX coding to support lossless CD-quality streaming fidelity from your devices along with iTunes playback and all of the compressed streaming services you can throw at it, like Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Rhapsody and more.
Since its products are often used outdoors, Soundcast says the BlueCast adapter is weather-resistant so you can connect it for some short-range outdoor Bluetooth listening from your nearby smartphone or other portable device. The company says the BlueCast should deliver eight to 10 hours of uninterrupted playback from its USB rechargeable battery.
Look for the BlueCast to add to your wireless portable system from Soundcast this June for $79.
