Want to a put a little boom into your room? You’re going to need a subwoofer. You could go with a subwoofer that sticks out like a sore thumb—or you can opt for one that sticks out as a conversation starter, like something from Paradigm Speakers.
The company just started shipping two new subwoofers: the 12-inch Prestige 1000SW and the 15-inch Prestige 2000SW. Both models have front-mounted controls and a built-in Ultra-Class D power amplifier. The Prestige 2000SW also uses noise reducing networks and a control circuit for high current with a quiet performance.
Each Prestige model has X-PAL Pure-Aluminum cone woofers and patented Active Ridge Technology (ART) surrounds. The aforementioned control options include Level, Cut-Off Frequency and Phase, as well as PBK On/Off and the Tone Sweep feature. The latter is a nifty perk, which can identify areas in the room that have troublesome rattles or resonances.
Another great thing about Prestige Series subwoofers is that they add to the decor instead of taking away from it. That’s because Paradigm Speakers is making both models available in four eye-catching finishes.
The Prestige 1000SW and Prestige 2000SW also ship with the Perfect Bass Kit (PBK). This is Paradigm’s “bass perfecting” system, which can tweak the subwoofer’s settings based on your actual room.
“At Paradigm, we already know how to build powerful subwoofers. However, we wanted the Prestige Series subwoofers to carry over the luxurious look and feel of the Prestige Series speakers,” said Justin Bright, director of marketing and digital technology for Paradigm Electronics, Inc. “At first glance and listen to the new Prestige subwoofers, it’s clear that the industrial design and engineering teams have hit a home run. Not only do the Prestige subwoofers feature the same sharp lines, beautiful finishes and intelligent industrial design as the Prestige Series speakers, they are also feature rich and acoustically superior.”
Paradigm Speakers is shipping the Prestige 2000SW and Prestige 1000SW now, starting at $3,999 and $2,999, respectively. That price is for the walnut, black walnut and piano black finishes. If you want the Midnight Cherry option, expect to pay a $300 premium.
