Speakers come in all shapes and sizes. It’s nice to be able to squeeze a little sound into a smaller space. However, sometimes you want that speaker to be in your face — as well as in your room.
The Boston Acoustics A 360 is a big boy. Measuring almost 42 inches high, this floorstanding speaker packs in two 6.5-inch woofers, a 3.5-inch midrange unit, and the company’s 1-inch Kortec soft dome tweeter. Other features include a frequency range of 38Hz to 25kHz, a senstivity rating of 89dB, and more.
According to a recent review on Audioholics, that sensitivity is actually lower than rated. There were a few other minor quirks, but writer Joel Foust seemed pretty pleased with the unit overall.
“The Boston Acoustics A360 floorstanding loudspeakers are well built and look good at $800/pair. High quality parts are used in the cabinet construction and the drivers are decent quality. Although the measured sensitivity is on the low side and the midrange a bit recessed, the A360’s exhibit nice bass extension. I envision that Boston Acoustics designed this speaker to please the masses and I think it is excellent in that regard.”
