Bowers & Wilkins has put a lot of audio technology into plenty of compact packages. However, the company’s latest Bluetooth speaker to be B&W’s most portable option to date.
The newly announced T7 Bluetooth Speaker combines Bowers & Wilkins sound, wireless streaming and a rechargeable battery, all in a compact package that you’ll want to tote around — to show off, of course!
It’s important to note that this is the company’s first Bluetooth speaker, as well as the first commercially available application of Bowers & Wilkins’ Micro Matrix technology. The latter was derived from the Matrix internal bracing found in the 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers — the same ones that can be found in Abbey Road Studios. However, the Micro Matrix honeycomb structure is smaller, but still provides plenty of cabinet stiffening and a solid platform for the T7’s drive units.
Speaking of which, the T7 uses two force-canceling high-output bass radiators, two 2-inch drive units, two filterless class D amplifiers, digital-to-analog converters, and aptX Bluetooth. It also has a rechargeable battery, which boasts up to 18 hours of playtime at normal listening levels.

Also worth mentioning is that Bowers & Wilkins designed the user interface in conjunction with composer, artist and performer Mira Calix. The end result promises to be simple to use, but is also supported by a pallet of unique audio cues.
Bowers & Wilkins will start selling the T7 this month, with an MSRP of $349.99.
