Bose VideoWave Stuffs Sound System into 46-inch TV

We’re all for cleaning up the A/V clutter, but if you’re going to do it with the new Bose VideoWave, you’d better be prepared to pay — a cool $5,349.

That price includes something called “white glove service,” which should include folding laundry, fluffing pillows and having a casserole ready for dinner. Sadly, it’s just setup for this new product, which combines an audio system with a 46-inch 1080p LCD.

It’s actually Bose’s first TV, so what do you expect? However, instead of just paying for the bragging rights, you are also getting the privilege of packing all of your audio into the one unit. That means that VideoWave has no speakers and no speaker wire. It basically takes the pieces of your A/V system that fill up your living room, dining room, and the dog’s bed, and puts them into one clutter-free product.

Inside, the system packs a whopping 16 speakers, Bose PhaseGuide sound radiator technology, and AdaptIQ technology. There’s also a little console for connecting up to five high-definition devices, such as a Blu-ray player or PS3. An iPod/iPhone dock is also included.

Also, in case you’re wondering what to do with your existing remotes, Bose is suggesting the circular file. This unit comes with its own “click pad” remote, which offers an on-screen, minimalist approach to all of your connected components.

It’s an interesting concept, but a very expensive one. We’ll see who will start biting when Bose begins selling the VideoWave on October 14, 2010.
