A lot of companies are putting out Bluetooth headphones these days. Having Bluetooth support allows you to stream music straight to the headphones from any smartphone, tablet, computer or other compatible device. No tethering or tangled cords are needed!
Urbanears is the latest to release a pair of these wire-free headphones. The Plattan ADV Wireless Bluetooth headphones are actually the company’s very first pair of Bluetooth headphones. Besides support for Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the Plattan ADV Wireless has a built-in swipe interface right on the ear cup, which allows users to access all of the headphones’ features.
That means you can adjust volume and flip through tracks right on the ear cup. However, there’s also a built-in microphone for making and taking calls. It even has a built-in equalizer and the ZoundPlug on the ear cup, which allows a friend to plug in and enjoy all of your music.
Also worth mentioning is that there’s a small LED light on the ear cup, which can deliver info about the set’s power status, as well as the Bluetooth connection. Promising up to 8 hours of music on a full charge, the set also comes with a micro-USB cable for powering up after that long listening session.
Other features include a range of 33 feet, a collapsible structure for travel and/or storage, and the option to remember up to eight previously paired devices. Urbanears also boasts a “custom fit” via 3D-hinge functionality and an ear cushion that adjusts to the user’s ears and head after hours of use. Speaking of that headband: It’s actually machine-washable and can be tossed in with your other laundry, so you can keep it sweat-free and looking new.
Urbanears will start shipping the Plattan ADV Wireless Bluetooth headphones on June 2, 2015. They’ve been priced at $100.
