These days, it’s not enough to free up your audio for on-the-go listening. Even your headphones need to be freed up as well. Thankfully, there are a plethora of Bluetooth headphones on the market—and that’s just from Sony.
The company just debuted four new pairs of wireless Bluetooth headphones: the MDR-ZX770BN, the MDR-ZX770BT, the MDR-ZX330BT and the MDR-AS600BT. Each one supports Bluetooth technology, so you won’t have to be tethered to any type of music player. Instead, you can wirelessly stream music from any smartphone, tablet or other compatible device.
At the top of the lineup is the MDR-ZX770BN (pictured), which adds in noise-canceling features. This is a nice perk, whether you rock out at work or travel often, since it can cut down on all of the ambient noise. Besides Bluetooth with aptX, this around-the-ear model also has one-touch Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, 40mm driver units, and hands-free calling features. When you want to go wireless, this model can deliver up to 13 hours of continuous music. If you need to be attached to a music player, whether because of your source or battery power, wired capabilities are also an option. Shipping this month in black and blue, the MDR-ZX770BN is priced at $229.99.
Right in the middle of the around-the-ear lineup is the MDR-ZX770BT. This model has the Bluetooth and the built-in aptX, as well as a built-in microphone and a rechargeable battery for up to 17 hours of music on the go. Speaking of which, this model was made for travel, with swiveling ear cups that can fold flat for storing in a backpack or gym bag. Also shipping this month, the MDR-ZX770BT will be available in black and blue, with an MSRP of $149.99.
For something slightly more compact (and a little cheaper as well), Sony will start shipping the MDR-ZX330BT Bluetooth Headphones this month. This model has the Bluetooth, the NFC, and hands-free calling with the built-in microphone. It can also deliver up to 30 hours of playtime via the built-in rechargeable battery. This model even has a lightweight swivel on-ear design for hours of use. It’s priced at $99.99.
The last in the new Bluetooth headphones lineup is also priced at $99.99. However, the MDR-AS600BT Active Sports Wireless Earphones are made for your inner athlete. Shipping this month, the MDR-AS600BT has Bluetooth, NFC and a one-button control for flipping through tracks and making/taking calls. Promising up to 8.5 hours of continuous music, the MDR-AS600BT also has a comfortable, water-resistant design for those extra-sweaty workouts. Look for this option in black and orange.
