You probably want your headphones to look as good as they sound. Naturally, sound quality is king. However, this is something you’re going to be wearing on your head. You want those headphones to look nice.
To make sure that they were creating something truly stylish, Master & Dynamic collaborated with acclaimed New York fashion house Proenza Schouler on a re-imagining of the company’s flagship MH40 headphones. The end result is the MH40-PS.
These limited-edition headphones feature three leather and black metal color-ways, which are super cushy. That’s because each of those color-ways has a shiny goatskin headband lined with lambskin and perforated lambskin ear pads. That kind of material makes them perfect for your own private music marathon!
Worth noting is that the MH40 has 44mm Neodymium drivers, 32ohms impedance, a metal mute button, and oxygen-free copper-woven cables. Other features on this special set includes Proenza Schouler custom etching on the screws and ear-cup plaques, a heat-stamped Proenza Schouler headband, an engraved leather box, and a Proenza Schouler blue canvas pouch.
“On a personal level, music is a really big part of our lives and our creative process,” explain Proenza Schouler founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. The PS design duo “plays music in [the] office all day, every day. It’s one of the things that is guaranteed to put [us] in a mood. Nothing else in our lives has that power. It is endlessly inspiring.”
According to Master & Dynamic, the company only plans to produce 200 of the MH40-PS for worldwide distribution. You can snag yourself a pair right now for $495.
