It may seem impossible to take really good audio on the go. If you’re one of those discerning listeners who still pooh-poohs today’s headphones, you may want to pick up a pair of HiFiMAN’s HE1000.
The HE1000 full-size planar audiophile headphones use Nanotechnology to produce a Nanometer-grade-thickness diaphragm that’s less than 0.001mm thin. That type of technology, when combined with an advanced Asymmetrical Magnetic Circuit that was seven years in the making, can create a flagship model that’s super light, but also super powerful.
HiFiMAN has given the HE1000 an open-back design that protects the drivers, with a patented “Window Shade” grill with premium alloys. This boasts a greater openness, so that the sound waves can crank out a bold audio performance, but without unwanted vibration and distortion.
Other features include asymmetrical ear pads that promise a good acoustic seal and a headband that combines a special metal alloy with soft calf’s skin. HE1000 audiophile headphones also feature an oxygen-free copper (OCC) cable to deliver the best performance possible. HiFiMAN has even packaged up each HE1000 with three types of plugs: the mini 6.35mm, a 1/4-inch 3.5mm, and a 4-pin XLR connector.
“For many years now, HiFiMAN has created planar magnetic headphones that have sounded quite good and the company has developed a strong following,” says Dr. Fang Bian, HiFiMAN’s founder and president. “However, all along, it has been my dream to create the world’s best headphone and I decided that to do that I had to leverage my background in Nanotechnology. HE1000 has taken us several years of patience and hard work and so far, the results are very exciting.”
With all of that time, effort and technology, you should know that this is one product that won’t come cheap. HiFiMAN is shipping the HE1000 planar audiophile headphones this month, with an MSRP of $2,999.
