Wearing headphones can be a very personal thing. Not only do you worry about the actual listening experience you’ll get from this tiny speaker set, but you need to find something that you’re willing to have strapped to your head for an extended period of time.
Audiofly is giving us four pairs of audiophile headphones that are tailored to four specific listening styles, all under the Performance Series. Each of these new in-ear monitors boasts realistic and accurate sound, but in a package that’s quite user-friendly and modern.
The AF120 is the least expensive of the lot at $249.95, with a hybrid configuration of 9mm dynamic and balanced armature drivers. It boasts a crossover in each ear, as well as a frequency range of 20-20kHz, a sensitivity rating of 108dB (at 1kHz), and 12 ohms impedance.
For $349.95, the AF140 has one dynamic and two balanced armature drivers, with a crossover in each ear. This model also features a frequency range of 20-22kHz, a sensitivity rating of 118dB (at 1kHz), and 38 ohms impedance.
The AF160 has three balanced armature drivers that work simultaneously with a crossover. Priced at $449.95, this model has a frequency range of 18-22kHz, a sensitivity rating of 110dB (at 1kHz), and 18 ohms impedance.
And finally, the AF180 is the cream of the crop, with four balanced armature drivers and a crossover in each ear. The AF180 has a frequency range of 15-25kHz, a sensitivity rating of 108dB (at 1kHz), 18 ohms impedance, and an MSRP of $549.95.
