After launching earlier this year, SlingTV is bringing even more live TV to its subscribers. The DISH Network-owned outlet has added more content to its “Best of Live TV” core package, as well as a whole new add-on option.
SlingTV just added AMC and IFC into the live over-the-top TV service. That means for $20 a month, you can watch The Walking Dead (pictured), Better Call Saul, the final season of Mad Men, Portlandia, and more. The same deal will soon add in options to watch BBC America, BBC World News and WE tv.
In addition to the above channels, the Best of Live TV package features ESPN, ESPN2, the Food Network, HGTV, the Disney Channel, TNT, TBS, the Travel Channel, Adult Swim, CNN, the Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Galavision, and the El Rey Network. It also includes Video-On-Demand entertainment and online video options from Maker Studios.
If you’re willing to spend an extra five bucks every month, you can get an add-on pack. The latest option is called “Hollywood Extra,” which includes movies from EPIX, EPIX2, EPIX3, EPIX Drive-In and Sundance TV. In addition to the movie options, this pack has a nifty replay feature that allows viewers to watch up to seven days of previously-aired content, all without a DVR.
“Hollywood Extra” has joined the current add-on packages, such as the “Kids Extra” option with Disney Junior, Disney XD, Boomerang, Baby TV and Duck TV; a “News & Info Extra” package with HLN, Cooking Channel, DIY and Bloomberg TV; and the “Sports Extra” package, with ESPNU, SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPN Bases Loaded, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Goal Line, Univision Deportes, Universal Sports, and beIN Sports.
“Since day one, we promised to develop a pay-TV service that a new generation wants,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “Our customers are asking for access to additional popular shows and movies, which is why we are offering AMC, IFC and the ‘Hollywood Extra’ add-on pack. We are committed to meeting the needs of our consumers and will continue enhancing the Sling TV experience with even more programming options at an affordable price.”
Sling TV is currently available through the Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku players, Roku TVs, iOS and Android devices, Macs and PCs. It should be streaming on additional devices in the coming months, including select Samsung Smart TVs, the Xbox One and Google’s Nexus Player.
