We keep hearing about all of the retailers releasing Black Friday pricing. Well, manufacturers want to make you a deal as well. Mitsubishi just announced rebates on three of its most popular home theater projectors: the HC1600, HC5500 and HC6500. “Mitsubishi is committed to making our home theater projectors even more affordable, particularly in these tough economic times,” said James Chan, said the company’s senior marketing director. “Our rebate program will be running through the end of the year, perfect for adding a little holiday… View this story

Another retailer is making its deals known. RadioShack is adding a lot of items into the Black Friday fray. All you need is your credit card and your phone number and/or zip code (do they still ask for that?), and a peek at what they are expected to have on hand. Here are a few of our favorite deals: Samsung Blu-ray Player - $199.99 (no model listed) Sirius SUB-2X Dock & Play Boombox - $49.99 TomTom One 125 GPS - $99.99 Belkin Tunebase FM Transmitter… View this story

The Projector People are at it again, this time serving up some 1080p projection at a very attractive price. The model is Mitsubishi’s HC5500 LCD projector, featuring full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. ProjectorPeople.com has a nice $500 rebate that lowers the price to $1,995, and when you do the “click for our price” thing it gets dropped to $1,695—not a bad way to enter the 1080p projection fray. Here are some other tasty specs for the HC5500: 1200 lumens brightness 14000:1 contrast ratio… View this story

Amazon.com has already slashed the Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray player’s price quite a bit, down to $176.96, including free shipping. If you want to go even lower, Amazon has another coupon code (AMAZONBD, which you enter at checkout) that will take the price down $100 when you add four Blu-ray movies. We know, we know—usually that means picking from the dregs of the movie vault. In this case, sure the choice is limited to only 32 selections, but they could make for a good starter collection… View this story

Don’t want to hassle with mall crowds for electronics deals this weekend? You can go online for a Halloween projector treat. ProjectorPeople.com is adding to an already sweetened deal on a Mitsubishi high-definition projector by throwing some more money at you. It will have the Mitsubishi HC1600 projector, originally priced at $895, for just $699 as its “Deal of the Day” on Saturday and Sunday, November 1-2. The deal includes a sales price, $100 mail-in rebate (good through Nov. 30 if you don’t happen to… View this story

Black Friday

Store Christmas trees, lights and giant inflatable lawn ornaments aren’t the only signs that the holiday shopping season is upon us. We are also getting a sneak peek at some of the Black Friday deals to be had. Gizmodo has a nice lengthy list of the goodies that can be had at your local Sears during the post-turkey frenzy. Despite the economy, the Consumer Electronics Association says that consumer electronics will still be the hot ticket this holiday shopping season. It’s hard to argue, considering… View this story

Cheap TVs
Rachel Cericola
10/16 11:33 AM, 8 Comments
Black Friday is typically a barricade-the-doors-and-stay-at-home kind of day for me. However, this season, it might be worth wedging your car on the last patch of parking lot grass; it could be the single greatest day to buy consumer electronics—ever. The NPD Group says (via USA Today) that prices will be dropping like flies, and will stay low through next year. The drops are due to a lack of consumer spending and lots of product laying around. TVs in particular should see a very nice… View this story

Asus Eee

CrunchGear found this tasty little nugget: The Asus Eee Box PC is now available at Buy.com for $290.99, which includes free shipping. Asus has been popping up a lot lately, making themselves know for the inexpensive Eee PC line. Even cheaper makes us like them that much more.  According to dealnews.com, the price is about $57 lower than it was at the end of the summer, and about a buck less than some of the other prices we’ve seen on the web—but none of those… View this story

Earlier this month, we selected Samsung’s BD-P1500 ($299) as one of the 10 Blu-ray Players with the Best Value. The deal just got sweeter because three major online retailers (and reportedly others) are throwing in ”The Ultimate Matrix Collection” - for free. The 10-disc box set is scheduled to be released October 14th and it comes with an MSRP of $129.95 (You can find it online for about $90). A quick search revealed the following pricing for the BD-P1500: Amazon - $223; Best Buy -… View this story
