About a month ago, we heard rumblings from Wal-Mart about a Geek Squad-like service. Now it seems that Dell is making it happen. The two companies have joined forces for Solution Station by Dell. The service will offer consumers setup help on TVs, PCs, wireless networks, and more. It will also offer repair services. From the announcement, it sounds like you can’t buy a Joe-Schmoe TV and have them deal…

The Wii is still scarce, but people are buying them—somehow, somewhere. According to the NPD Group, Nintendo sold more than 666,000 Wii consoles just in June. In the same month, Sony sold 405,500 PS3s, while the Xbox 360 trailed with 219,800 units. Overall, Nintendo has sold 10.9 Wiis since its November 2006 launch. That’s more than the Xbox 360, says Bloomberg. The Wii’s success has been attributed to its motion-sensing…

Hey Rocky, watch me pull an iPod dock out of my hat… Again? That wasn’t exactly part of Bullwinkle’s routine, but these days, it seems to be a lot easier than scoring a rabbit. The latest to throw their hat into the iPod accessory ring is Samson, with its StudioDock 3i USB Studio Monitors. It’s got the iPod dock, which charges and plays your portable. However, one thing that does…

The Wachowski Brothers couldn’t put the cans in the seats for this summer’s “Speed Racer.” So what makes them think you’d flip the $30 to $40 for it on Blu-ray? When the 3-disc set pulls into stores this fall, it will come with an exclusive game and a digital copy of the movie, says High-Def Digest. One disc will include the digital copy, one disc will have the exclusive “Speed…

Microsoft wasn’t the only one to slash game prices this week. Sony, in an effort to keep up with the competing console, announced a PS3 price cut—to the tune of $100. Come this fall, Sony will knock $100 off the price of the PlayStation 3—but only the 80GB version. The new price will be $400, which is what the 40GB version currently retails for. Don’t look for a bargain there,…

If you’ve had enough of summer “programming,” TiVo has a plethora of short-attention span entertainment available via YouTube. Starting today, TiVo subscribers will be able to access thousands of YouTube videos, via a broadband-connected TiVo box. It seems like Internet video news is coming fast and furious these days, with Netflix especially having made waves. Today it’s Amazon’s turn, as the dot-com retail giant is unleashing its Video On Demand, essentially to replace (or as Amazon says “provide new enhancements for") its Unbox Service. Unlike the current Unbox model, Amazon’s Video On Demand will work somewhat like cable on demand—your video can start playing immediately because…
