During the tour of the HGTV Dream Home, the thermostat in this annex area just off the kitchen showed 70 degrees when the Lutron shades were down. Later in the tour, a guest bedroom in the home with a similar southern exposure but with fewer windows had a thermostat reading of 78 with the shades up… a whopping 8 degree difference in temperature just from the shades limiting the sunlight into the rooms.
