Motorola Droid Phone

The Motorola Droid is the first cell phone to use the Google Android 2.0 operating system. It’s available from Verizon Wireless for $199 (after a $100 rebate) with a two-year contract.

Many think the Droid will finally pose a threat to the iPhone, which the BlackBerry Storm and Palm Pre have both, thus far, failed to do.

The Droid runs on the TI OMAP 3430 processor and has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which the iPhone lacks. The Droid displays video at 854×480 pixels, while the iPhone 3Gs displays at 640×480. The Droid also has a 5 Mega Pixel camera, compared to the iPhone 3GS’ 3 mega pixel camera.

The Droid does have an app store, but as you can imagine, it doesn’t even compare to Apple’s App Store.
