Torchlight (PC)

The challenge in gifting this little gem is wrapping it up. It’s only available digitally. That’s the bad news. The good news is the price ($20) and the gameplay, which is similar to the classic Blizzard title Diablo. No surprise there, several members of the team who built Torchlight worked on Diablo.

Gameplay is pretty basic. Click to move, click to attack, number keys to use special skills and drink healing potions. And yet the game is compelling. A
level editor should be out by the time you read this, meaning lots of fan-created content to enjoy. Get it at http://www.torchlightgame.com/
