Bioware RPG. For some gamers, I need say no more. Bioware (they’re the folks who did Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic and are working on the upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic) calls this a spiritual sequel to its old Baldur’s Gate games.
You can play the game old-school (top down, carefully micro-managing the actions of your party) or zoom in closer, let the computer play your sidekicks and just hack and slash your way through. A rich backstory (two novels based on the game are already out) and a powerful toolset should mean lots of add-on content, at least for the PC version. Bioware has promised lots of DLC for the console versions, as well.
