Despite my misgivings about filmmakers creating multiple versions of the same film, the Raunchy Comedy is probably the one sub-genre where this practice is the least offensive – although “offensive” is definitely the magic word when considering the films in question. Whether you prefer your unrated humor courtesy of the newly-crowned King of Comedy Judd Apatow or from old favorites such as Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler, there’s something for everyone on Blu-ray this year: Tropic Thunder (Paramount), Ultimate Unrated Comedy Collection: Knocked Up/40-Year-Old Virgin/Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Universal), Step Brothers (Sony), Dodgeball (Fox), You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (Sony) and Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (New Line).
