Summer 2008 was a blast at the box office. For animation fans (notice I didn’t say “kids”), a boxy-but-good robot and an overweight panda delivered fantastic family-friendly fare. Elsewhere, one old franchise was completely reinvented while another simply dusted off its star and attempted to return to its roots. Revisiting the land of Narnia proved to be an entertaining decision and Angelina Jolie showed action junkies that she can curve a bullet like nobody’s business. And they’re all on Blu-ray: Wall-E (Disney), Kung-Fu Panda (Dreamworks), Get Smart (Warner), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Paramount), Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Disney) and Wanted (Universal).
