HDMI is absolutely the simplest way to pipe your Blu-ray player’s audio and video to your television and sound system – but those two devices may be one in the same if you’re trying to keep things simple. If your television has but one lonely HDMI port (or just a DVI port), you can still feed it video from multiple HDMI sources with the help of an HDMI switcher such as Oppo’s HM-31. The HM-31 is table or wall-mountable and features three HDMI 1.3 inputs and one HDMI output; switching can be done from the front panel or via remote control. The switch also features an external IR input and an RS-232C port.
