There are programmable thermostats, and there’s the Omnistat2. The Energy Star-rated seven-day programmable thermostat can precisely control the temperature and humidity, by learning a home’s heating and cooling patterns and adjusting the settings to maximize both the HVAC system’s efficiency and your comfort. It can also display the outdoor temperature, system runtimes, and filter cleaning info. It can also be controlled remotely. Some versions can even communicate with your electric meter.

There’s nothing terribly exciting about thermostats—until now. The ViewStat does all the normal functions of a programmable thermostat, but with a twist. The 3.5-inch unit can also display detailed weather information, such as the current wind speed, barometric pressure, humidity level, and, of course, the outdoor temperature.
