LIke any other home theater projector you only need connect your source to the projector - in this case through HDMI, Component, DVI or M1-DA.
yes i know but most projectors only have the vga port and s-video also even at the storeo,s they didn,t know how to explain to a customer how to watch good hdtv....what do you need ? how can they sell something ......not knowing the answers? a astc tuner? cable box ...hd receiver?...no one that i can find can explain the basic,s i found out by trial and error....i have an infocus connected to a HDTV receiver..that works good with a good picture but not that many channels,,,,with an antenna it works better ...cable not so good..anyway any new good advice i could use ... thanks
sir i am in business of av integragtation and home theater installation i have install so many of in 72 & 76 for home theater projector sir i woud like to get up date on hdmi 1.3 pls specigy main ly difference about rhe techjnolgy .
The answer to your question is anything that outputs a video signal that’s compatible with the inputs. Looking at the pic on the back it seems to have component inputs as well as dvi and hdmi. Any decent DVD player with progressive scan will have at least component and the new blu ray and hd dvd will have something that works, most likely HDMI. An external TV tuner would be required for TV channels. Cable boxes and sat receivers count as external tuners, and an ASTC tuner does as well. It really depends on what you want and where you live. There is nothing special about a projector vs a typical HDTV in terms of inputs, with the exceptions that the projectors will usually have VGA in which is not the case with most (but certainly not all) flat panels, and that you will most likely want to run the sound through a separate receiver in the case of a projector as the form factor and placement make for very poor audio. Not that panels have great audio but it’s by nature a far cry better than projectors.
Hope that helps. If you have other questions and want to put in the time I suggest avsforum.

Hi !
I love the picture of the In76. But I am still having nightmares getting the sound and picture straight.
I am using an Onkyo SR-605 to feed the picture and STILL TRYING TO GET sound out of the HDMI attached Sony Playstation 3 . I use this Playstation for Blu-ray discs and am TOTALLY ENAMORED WITH BLU-RAY. I bought this about 5 months ago and am stunned with the whole thing. (Not a gamer so have no idea on that stuff). BUT I have had to rely on my Panasonic TH-PZ700U for all viewing that needs Sound…
So I have only a couple of older 201 series IV Boze speakers with the copper wiring hookups at the back. Fortunately, the onkyo does have this type of hook up on the back but must use it through the “zone 2” speaker output on the back… NO Sound.
HELP!!
I’ve gone through this manaul a hundred times to figure it out and can see that the Zone 2 is active.. but not a tiny tiny peep.

My infocus (i think its the 5800) (2000 Euro at that time) worked well, I was however lucky to get to the 2500 hrs for the light and the colorwheel. The colorwheel (bearing noise) is now almost killed and the light is poor, although still working. I guess for TV/film purpose one has to be aware that you don’t use the thing for more than 2 - 3 years. My next one will at least not have a colorwheel anymore. Only seperate color LCDs. Repair of the wheel would be more expensive than a new one (as Infocus told me)

With a high-gloss black finish, InFocus’ newest addition to its Play Big lineup, the company’s first full HD 1080p IN82 model, looks great to go with the impressive images it will throw onto a screen.
